Well, true. The header is a little tall, but there is a scroll on the side for a reason! ;)

I'm on 1680x1050 so for me it looks good... but poor 800x600 users.

Wow mate. I love the overall design the colours are as you said unique But there not odd , I love the depth of the design it makes my eyes travel from the clouds down to what you have to say. I hope in the design though you increase the line-height of the content. Good luck coding it if you need any help ( I'm sure you won't your leagues better than me ) Just holler.
